Mary Long was formerly a staff secretary at Saint Hill Manor during the 1960's and worked closely with L. Ron Hubbard. Mary Long had a lifelong interest in occultism and associated with modern-day Golden Bough adepts. She and Hubbard had long conversations about occult subjects and in particular Kabbala studies and ritual practices. They both had a fascination with Ancient Egypt. Mary Long wrote a small novel called I, Osiris around 1960 and only available in limited print. After becoming disillusioned with Scientology around 1970 Mary Long went to live in Manchester at her famous 'Magic Casements' apartment where she continued to write and research into occult mysticism and ritual magic. He last major novel was the currently out-of-print 'Our Son Moves Among You' which features occult material associated with Hubbard's role.
